The title works well with the scene. The group of people looking out to sea, with the ship in the distance, does look like a group of shipwrecked survivors looking for rescue. Good composition, and I like both versions equally.

B&W looks bleaker.
I do like the figures, they give balance, here and there, as well as a story.
