The Matterhorn, Switzerland.
Wow is just not a powerful enough word for this place on our amazing Earth.
where I stand at 3100 metres above sea level is Kulmhotel Gornergrat over looking the Matterhorn which stands at 4,478 metres high and is the most photographed Mountain in the World.
I had to do a relatively long exposure here to enhance the ruggedness of the landscape and show some wild movement in those lovely clouds.
For me Switzerland has got to be right up there for places to go for landscape photography I am so glad I went and Would very much love to go again.

It certainly is a wonderful sight to see and you have captured it so well. It is many years since I was there but I too would love to go back.

Reminds me of an old groan joke - The Matterhorn is a horn they blow when sometthing is the matter.

Stunning mountain landscape. Cant fault it in any way, superb. It's worth an award for just getting up there! I now wish I'd done this kind of thing when I was younger.

Wow thank you everyone for your comments votes and UA'''''s much appreciated.
I think the awards must go to this magical wilderness us Landscape lovers love so much and others seem to want to destroy it.
those wonderful Glaciers have been here longer than Man yet within such a relatively short period of time our greed for the planets resources have caused our planet to slowly melt, I for one am glad to have seen such beauty.
sorry for the rant and thank you.

Lovely shot Ian. I know this spot well. If you plan to visit Switzerland again I recommend the Engadine in the south east canton of Graubunden, especially in the autumn.
