Maximus is a male Golden Eagle and is over 50 years of age. He is a disabled bird and is unable to fly. Unfortunately in the past he was constantly tethered to a falconry block and due to stress plucked his secondary feathers.
Maximus now lives in a large aviary at Liberty's Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre where his constant care and better surroundings will help stimulate the re-growth of his secondary feathers.
As a visitor to the centre, they clearly know what they are doing and love what they do as much as they love the birds and reptiles they are caring for.
