Just love this Dave and I think most of us that have being fishing knows that feeling.
Love what you have done with the black and white, so I thought I would have a go at the colour one. I have not changed anything in the image, just a bit of colour toning. I wanted to make it a darker feel to the image. Just used the new selection tools in camera raw.
Great image...

Thanks Robert, nice mod. Seems a little more natural.

A little delay in giving my first GEA of the week, because I was having trouble with the Awards Manager (I don't usually use it: thanks to Malc, as so often, for sorting out a problem).
Why? Beautiful, tight composition, with the rod pointing the same way as the man's eyes, and that distant expression. A man lost in the flow, which would be ironic if he was fishing on a canal...
The depth of field is just right, suppressing the background, but allowing enough to show to indicate an urban rather than a rural setting.
I knew when I saw it that this was a contender for me. Nice one, Dave!
