I might yet chicken out and take these down but for now a couple of shots taken this evening in an attempt to produce a half decent bagless/maskless image of myself.

Minimal effort I'm afraid - I was experimenting with positioning my cool-lights and am afraid it was too nippy to get changed!

Prefer V3 and 4, - the angle suits you better

I amaze myself - I actually uploaded these without the help of any voddy!

I agree with you Willie- face on is very iffy - this was the best of the bunch as all the others showed my lop-sided eyes off a treat Sad

Nice to put a face to the stunning work (covered by masks and bags) I prefer both the coloured versions of these images.

Thanks Sean - I think the bags and masks will prevail however Smile

I did try the B&W conversions as to be honest the only foundation I could find was totally the wrong colour and doesn't exactly match the rest of me!

YAY! Finally, we see you Wink. I prefer the colour version of the first 2 it shows of the lovely brown of your eyes. But I prefer the angle of the 2nd pair, but in black ad white. Doesn't look like you have any problem with lighting to me, but Im no expert on portraits.

Thank you again folks Smile

It does seem that the second shot is the better angle then - as always I choose the wrong first upload Smile

it seems my eyes change colour regularly - they certainly aren't as dark as they used to be but suspect that's an age thing - maybe they fade along with everything else!

It would certainly be easier to have a body in front of the camera so that I didn't have to keep jumping up and down to see what the shots were like - one day I'll find someone brave enough to subject themselves to my scrutiny. Admittedly I've not seriously tried to sort anyone out yet.....
Your portfolio contains some very good and quite unique work. Thanks for bravely giving us this set of photos. My only suggestion is that you give us a great big smile next time.
Thanks for your work.

I actually prefer V1 to the rest. It has an intensity and drama about it that I think the others don't capture. They are good shots, but a bit too "soft". V1 has an instant impact, engages you immediately and makes you wonder whats going on in the head. I really like it!

Good work!

You know Dave, now I see these on a different monitor I was seriously brave to upload them - V2 is pretty ghastly and maybe I should have made a bit more effort to sort out my skin! Heck, at my age I can hardly expect a baby-soft, wrinkle free complexion!

As for a smile - nigh on impossible unless I have reason to smile - I've tried faking it for the camera but I look totally fake and insincere.

I don't think I've really got the face for standard portraits and I pretty much agree with you John - I think I might be more suited to a stronger approach. Blimey - that foundation was totally the wrong colour though Smile

Thanks again everyone - I've just had a bash at the second image but think I might just try again another day - maybe at the weekend Smile

Thanks for the mods - as always I like to see what can be done with my images. Now if I could just replicate the light I have in the bedroom I'd be laughing - the mirror in there is the last one I look at before I leave the house as it's the most flattering light Smile

Blimey Chris - you've been amazingly kind to my old mug Smile Only 20 minutes? I'd have thought it would have taken far longer to knock a few more years off - hard to believe I'm only 97 Smile

Next time I try any more SPs I'll use a foundation that actually matches my skin-colour Smile

Botox and a peel might be more effective and longer-lasting Smile

Now you're scaring me - at least I've got a mask or bag on most of my SPs Tongue

Oh menacing is about the only face I can pull Smile

As for you Michael - looks like I'll have to produce some new material to play with - shame I've got another baggy head shot planned for this weekend Smile
