Me in 1976

By Rogerex
I think Pareen started this, so here is my contribution. 1976 is as close as I can get because most of my photos were on slides in those days. Taken in Tokyo in March 1976 on my first trip to Japan, I am with my penpal Tomoko, and in the background is a stadium built for the Olympics. This was printed on textured paper, so the clarity has suffered a bit in scanning. Cropped and tweaked in Paintshop
Hand-held Sekonic L8 lightmeter used to set the camera exposure.

Yaay! You joined in too! This is so great to see. I remember that textured paper as most of my Instamatic photos were printed on it. Thanks for sharing Roger!

Kombizz, unfortunately I lost contact with the penpal. It seems her parents were worried that she might want to marry me, and I am sure they influenced her decision to cease contact with me.

Very sweet picture, particularly with the story. You look a bit more relaxed than Tomoko, but still echoing her pose to some extent.
Pareen has really started something...!

Wonderful shot. We have a friend in Japan called Tomoko too; I wonder if the name is the equivalent of Mary or something like that here.
Wonderful shot and story, Roger......I need to check out all the 70's shots.....Smile

Cheers and have a good weekend,
