Funny but sad, I think. While some of us were swimming to the shops, Kent went into summer 2012 with a hosepipe ban.
I prefer the composition of V1, but V2 includes the 'Deep Water' bit of the sign.
Thanks for looking,

That's a great spot Moira but we're catching up fast! I think our hosepipe ban may have been lifted while I was away! Deep joy.... We're off to a BBQ at lunchtime - fingers crossed but its raining at the moment.

Thanks Ann, and other voters. I've spent ages trying to locate this on the map, I think I've got it right. It's in the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, anyway.
We have the best day's sunshine that we have seen in ages - which is as well since we are off to photograph a five mile road race round the town this morning. (Two whole days of 'In Bloom' judging coming up tomorrow and Tuesday, with 'heavy local showers' predicted. Oh joy...)

And I thought this was H&S going over the top at Hyde Park where the olympic 10k marathon swim will be heldWink

V1, Moira, what a shame you couldn't get all the sign in as I prefer the comp and viewpoint of that one.

v1 looks better balanced for having less of the frame devoted to the sign. St Swithin's Day today..... and no rain .... yet!! (In London)

Very well observed and taken Moira - flooding in New Romney High Street last night - I think they may lift the hosepipe ban now!!!!WinkWink

Stopped raining here ..hurrah! 2 good observations

Good capture I like v1, looks to have a better comp better balance as Dave says no rain here yet I think we may have a good one but don't count on it.

A pair of extremely well spotted and humorous photographs, which for me personally contain all the right ingredients to make two great photographs.

The weather without doubt is weird across the globe Moira, this shows it real well. Amusing image but there's serious side to it too, where will it end?

A good rectangle Moira.
I did skew mines a bit,and it was the best I could get with my limited manip' skills.
Best to learn to swim before I can do a bit of diving I reckon !!

You would think by now most of the reservoirs and things would of refilled by now due to the amount of rain some areas have had, i thought we had had a lot of rain in Herts upto us going on vacation last week but we were still under a hosepipe ban upto last week, crazy that other areas like parts of Kent are still effected.
V1 for me Moira Smile

Back here after a long day and a lot of processing - thanks to everyone who has clicked and commented today.
As Mick implies (and so subtly... ) these have had a fair bit of skewing to correct the rectangles. I wanted that formality, to contrast with the landscape, but couldn't get the background composition that I wanted with the sign straight!
I'm glad to see that a majority prefer V1, V2 has too much sign proportionally for me. But I do like that bit of fence on the right of V2.
Off to do a quick gallop through the Gallery.

It's easy to walk past an opportunity like this Moira, but i think we can rely on you to pause, see, compose, click, move on and then entertain your friends here. Well done!

I think Thames and South East Water have finally lifted their ludicrous hosepipe bans, which would have been unnecessay had they spent some of their vast profits on repairing leaks and improving the infrastructure instead of lining their shareholders pockets!!! Very well observed and recorded and so apt for a silly Sunday and the washout summer of 2012
