Meet the neighbours

By mrswoolybill
A lockdown scarecrow festival. A community event that everyone could participate in from the safety of their front gardens.
Regarding the main upload - the lady was working in her garden, I asked permission to take the photo, then I asked if it was meant to be her.
'No, it's my late husband.'
Oops...
Thanks for looking,
Moira

Brilliant set for the day, Moira.Smile

Many decades ago and when I first had an allotment, I spent quite some time constructing what I considered to be a really scary scarecrow. I remember the person who had an allotment next to me who said that the birds tend to ignore them and he gave up years previously.

When I arrived a few days later, there was a seagull perched on top of it which left droppings down the face of the scarecrow.Smile

I took it down. Smile

Thinks fondly of her late husband then? 😀😀

The nurse or doctor in PPE is so relevant...

We are all made of straw... little bits drop off along the journey 😀😀

What weird and scary neighbours you have, Moira! 😲 I think the lead has to be my fave here, with the two very colourful characters in V2 a close second 👍 Excellent Silly Sunday Stuff here 😃

What creative neighbours you have. I take it you didn't put one out. The sleepover one is really quite cute. The Boris one is very funny. It could be Trump too. Great set.

At least some were wearing face masks! Good selection, but probably the last image would be the most scary!!

I have yet to see a real scarecrow-- 'tis the stuff of children's stories, and yet you have an entire neighborhood of them----

Thanks folks, and thanks to Trev for his UA.
I was tempted to lead with the Boris scarecrow, but why spoil people's Sundays?
Been out photographing a lovely lady's garden today, great to get back to something approaching normality, albeit with social distancing carefully observed...
