XH558 on a her final display at Prestwick Airport, Scotland. An almost fateful day for "the spirit" as her nose gear failed to extend fully upon approach to land. I hadnt realized i got the shot with it "damaged" until after the event and i heard it on TV. An amazing plane thats clearly showed its age that day...

Some one watch last night channel 4 doc on it last fight.
A great image sad it can not fly again.

The doc with guy Martin? Brilliant guy and just right for the vulcan doc.

That was the day the nose wheel didn't come down Grin as you can see. Very interesting C4 programme with Guy Martin featured this incident. I'm pleased to say that, at the last minute it clunked into place and they got her down alright.

I went to Blackpool in August to see the last flight there ... Magnificent aircraft.
