Is it possible to lose the ability to smile?

Quote:Is it possible to lose the ability to smile?

YES Leo, reasons:
1. years of intolerable hardship in life,
2. hostile or unsympathetic social environment,
3. prolonged isolated social lifestyle,
4. distrust of public through years of distancing because of past bad experiences.
Many of my street subjects fall into 1 to 4 or a combination of reasons.......so it is very very difficult
for them to irk a simple smile for my camera no matter how hard I tried.....their facial muscles just don't work
so immediately! ee

A look and a smile with a dose of reservation. Glad to give the 30th vote to this superb portrait!

Looking rather serious there, but an excellent portrait 👍
Certainly going to be a long time before travelling abroad, and quite a while for holidaying here in Britain too 🥺

An inquisitive glare from a rather stern looking gentleman, ee. He doesn't take too kindly on being overlooked.Wink

A telling image, and very serious words.

We all know we have a crisis just now: life in many places is perpetual crisis.

And then there's global warming: I hope that as we emerge from lockdown, we start to take that seriously enough for extensive preventative measures.
