Memories of Deal

By dandeakin
#12/21

“One Sunday in June five hundred of us children were evacuated from Deal. We only had a week’s notice and we didn’t know where we were going until we got on the train. Deal was left a ghost town after that without any children. This was going on at the same time as Dunkirk just across the channel. Many children never returned and stayed where they were sent.”

The freaking results of War. So nice to see people escaping from it. Congratulations for the series.
