Memories Of Summer in Rosedale.

By terra
Looking into the Rosedale valley from Blakey Rigg, North Yorkshire. The ruin on the left of the picture is an old calcining kiln from the ironstone mining days, ore bearing rocks would be heated to drive out water before being loaded onto trains and transported to steel works on Teesside. At the height of the mining boom, 6,000 people worked here, in this now tranquil valley.
