Mermaids' Hair

By Philip_H
Last Friday, I had half-an-hour to kill before a meeting in the North Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough. I choose to head straight for the old harbour and found lots of interest there, including this pile of tangled fishing nets (which my wife poetically described as mermaids' hair).

Thanks for all the C&C's on my last upload overlooking Edinburgh's Old Town.

Best wishes,

Like the combination of delicate net and snakey rope. Nice abstract.

The square crop makes this work, it always seems to add an abstract quality.
Love the title too.

Someone has already likened the rope to a snake, and that's the first thing I thought of, like Medussa with the snakes in her hair.
My type of picture, a fisherman's nightmare to untangle and repair, but a photographer's dream abstract.
