Mid Life Crisis

By GlynnisFrith
Well Hubby & I have had a mid life crisis & only gone & bought our selves a diesel locomotive, we heard that if no buyer could be found it was going to be cut up for scrap been railway buffs we could not see this happen so we bought it.

It is 1960 Ruston & Hornsby 88DS Rowntree & Co Ltd No3 Works No 441934 she spent 20 years working at Rowntree York, before going to Newcastle for the next 7 years then in 1987 she went in to preservation, No3 was on display at the National Railway Museum Shildon for a number of years, but her new home is on the Derwent Valley Light Railway York where hubby & I both volunteer.

We hope to having running in the near future.
