good shot its hard to get good pics from the crowd
I've have been fortunate to photograph the legend that is Midge Ure, saw him in Birkenhead at Pacific Road (A great intimate venue, he seems to like those), he was talking about pop idol and X-factor and how easy it is for young artists to get record deals these days, when in the past you had to form a band, tour for years, write your own songs, make demo tapes and contact endless record companies until you got a deal. Two young lads walked away whilst he was talking, presumably to visit the bar or toilet, and he said to the audience, I bet they're going to gel their hair, I shouted, "You're Only Jealous" (as he's practically bald). My claim to fame, I've insulted an icon!
He has an amazing voice, especially when he sings "Dancing....". A true legend!

Got to speak to him after the show too and reminded him of a gig he did about 10 years before in my home town and as he said "never played in someones living room before". Very intimate gig in a small hotel dining room with about a hundered people. He is a very approachable person and takes the time to speak to fans and sign stuff and as you said a true legend.
