MIG27K Afterburner

By spikemoz
This MIG27K is kept at Newark Air Musem. The variable exhaust orifice petals had been removed at some time. This revealed the complex petal control system, so I took the oportunity to get a picture of it. I used flash to illuminate the far end of the afterburner.

It is interesting to note the stabilising fin under the fuselage, which folds to the right into the horizontal position for take off.

Spike.

Nice eye for an interesting shot, not something you see every day.

Great image, the only thing for me is the border and parts of the photo overlaping it.
cheers
