The moon had just gone down, its glow still visible behind the hill. The Milky Way began to appear over head, dominating the night sky. Spiggie is a fine location in Shetland for dark skies, nothing to the SW but Atlantic Ocean and no villages near by, so not much light pollution. I was down on the beach for a couple of hours, taking in the night sky. This was taken about 1:30 am, on an extremely calm night. Almost a minute exposure to try and capture plenty of stars, but try and avoid trails. This is my first attempt at shooting the Milky Way and really enjoyed seeing the results when I got home. A few more ideas to try out on the next clear evening we get, can't wait
