Millbrook Moment

By pmorgan
Good morning to you all!

Been away from the site for a while; working on a big project at work, and getting some of my stuff ready for a gallery who have agreed to stock some of my pieces.

Iíve had a few PMís asking my whereabouts, so I thought Iíd upload a quickie to let you know Iím still here!

I did chuckle to myself, as my house literally overlooks this lake and Iíve never thought it to be a worthy subject before, why do we take for granted the things on our doorstep! My good lady and I had just walked out of the front door and down the steps to go for a walk, and this scene greeted me ďhang on a minuteĒ, I said ďIíll just get my camera!Ē and this is the result.

Itís my eldest babyís 11th birthday today, got 5 of her friends coming round for a sleepover Ė wish me luck!

It takes skill to make such an appealing image from such a "mundane" scene. Colour for me please.

I think V1 just edges it for me, although it's a close call.

Very fine monochrome conversion Paul, nicely done. Having said that the colour makes this image spring to life, vibrant colourful and superbly composed. A touch of Summer which we all applaud.

The 50/50 split does not work for me, sorry paul.

The very strange almost artificial light on the reads in the foreground also does not work.

I enjoy your work but this is not your usual standard.

Sorry if this offends but its my honest opinion. And I welcome the same feedback on my work!
