It's not often I bring you a photo from the Peak District I haven't shot before, but today is one of them days.
This is Millstone Edge, overlooking the Hope Valley and Hathersage. I had been here previously, but didn't shoot anything except the view back towards Over Owler Tor.
I went out last Friday and the winds were really blowing. The forecast said totally cloudy but in need of fresh air I went out anyway in the hope of a gap in the clouds opening up.
I ramped up the ISO on the camera to keep the camera shake at bay with the winds and waited around. I almost gave up and made an early retreat, but could see rays of light dancing in the distance and knew it would only be a matter of time.
Finally, the light came and I shot a few scenes of a composition I had spotted while waiting. However, this one just jumped out at me instead and it ended up being my shot of the evening.
I hope you enjoy it. The heather is looking really good now. There's still a couple of spaces left for my heather workshop this Saturday, find out more here:
