I remember these from the original series of 'Coast'. A difficult composition and lovely tones again, Derek.

Interesting that you should both remark on the composition as this gave me real problems and probably explains why I have seen so few decent shots from here. Unless you have a boat the only approach is along a shingle path to a small headland. You cannot walk around the location as the Mirrors are located on an Island and only accessible via a swing bridge and even then only as part of an organised tour. I spent an hour walking around an area about 30ft x 30ft trying to find the perfect composition without ever being totally satisfied..

Many thanks to Julia for the GEA. I really do appreciate it.

I was interested to read of your difficulties in finding the right perspective for these mirrors. I've never seen them, even from a distance despite my frequent visits to Dungeness. So, a great composition and a very atmospheric image Derek.

A superb composition from here Derek, I have actually been in to see these close-up but your view-point shows them off perfectly, in my opinion! I like the mood/feel that you've created, almost sombre!

Thanks Sarah. I was definitely looking to bring out the imposing mood during post processing.

Very interesting Derek, I had no idea these existed down in Kent. Very nicely composed. Wink
Your very own detailed image Derek, something from a few concrete shapes. Interesting too.

Such an interesting subject and very nicely processed to reveal all that detail.

Different to see movement in the water in one of your images, and it has created lovely curves to the bottom left and different shapes to the right.
Well composed shot Derek SmileSmile

Was worth the time to chose this comp Derek. I too saw them on the TV but they didn't look as good as this! Love the dark moodiness to the image, reminiscent of those days when these were in use. The water movement front and left nicely echos the sky.
