Mist on the Coquet

By KingBee
Enormous thanks to Joline, Len and Fred for their UAs for yesterday's "Sermon" shot and to all others who voted and commented on it.

Today's image again comes from the Warkworth area with this view of the River Coquet, taken on the stretch that runs below the castle ramparts. Rowing boats like these can be hired for a trip on the water, if that floats your boat (pun intended), but a stroll along the riverbank is equally pleasurable. This part of Northumberland - in fact, most of the county in almost any direction - reminds me of how the British countryside used to be, in my child's eye, and I cannot get enough of it.

And the Coquet is one of our most beautiful rivers, too. Especially as seen here.

Picasso said “ As children, we are all artists, the problem is trying to stay artists as we grow up.”

Great pov and plenty of atmosphere. Smashing image Bob.

Beautiful capture, we stayed in a little cottage on the banks of the Coquet not far from where these boats are moored. Love the mist and the composition, a beautiful image.

Excellent atmosphere and dream-like feel to this, Bob.
Ideally, you should have temporarily untied one boat and hid it so that there were only three in the imageWinkWink

Yes, I see what you mean - is that a Zen thing? Wink However, I can also see She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed calmly standing by, lips tightly sealed, waiting while I go hide a boat. Not. Smile
