Do you know where the name Lambretta comes from? From the name of the Milan suburb (Lambrate) where it was manufactured.

Sepia toning is just perfect for this beautifully captured piece of nostalgia.

Thanks luceombra, I can now show off my newly acquired knowledge to my friend, a scooter boy in his youth!

Hi Luceombra / Al ,... I never knew that!!
I went to the rally as I have old friends that are this time around born again scootersts..I had a few in my youth (I'm 44 now).

Must say it has made me want one again.

Hi Lynne, thankyou, I took it with a view to this site a month or two back..but then decided it didn;t really work.
However, as I;m off poorly from work today, I thought I'd play with the black & white & toning etc etc, and it seems to have turned out all right..thankyou Smile

Hi Jonny,
In the mid 80s, the art work used to be phenomenal on the custom scooters... with all the visible & a lot of the non visible metal being engraved gold plate!!!

Mytho Poiekon was one such, and spell boind another..they won all the awards in 1985.

Glad you liked it, if you check my pother photos there's a lambretta converted to a chopper.... in some style.

Thanks for the vote Dan.

Thankyou Rob.

Was a bright summers day, so benefitted from losing the colour as was looking quite flat.
Much appreciated!!
