By jonah794
Hi All,

Welcome to tonights Monday Night Challenge!!

As you can see the theme is 'around the world'. Can be anything from a holiday snap - to a brilliant abstract. I can't wait to see what you all come up with and look forward to judging it later Smile

The rules:

The rules:

1. The photo does have to be taken, processed and uploaded before 9:00pm (one hour).
2. The challenge is started in the main gallery and the gallery description box states what the challenge is. You enter the challenge by uploading your picture as a 'modification' to the challenge announcement.
3. Any submission that appears to be taken before the competition started will be disqualified.
4. Any submission posted after the 'Time's Up!' image is uploaded will also be disqualified.
5. The challenge was originally just for fun but great prizes have been added, courtesy of PhotoSkill!
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week.
7. The winner gets to create, run, and judge the challenge the following week.
8. As this uses the modifications feature, the winner needs to be an e2 member but if not, another member may step in and upload a challenge for you.
9. If the winner is on holiday the following week the runner-up will receive the job.
10. ENJOY!!!!!!

The forum thread is here... Please add to it!!

You dont have to Jester...
Think about it and you will come up with something.... I never said you have to go around the world... You could even take a picture of a picture... Wink That would be allowed.

Surely we should not be photographing other peoples' work to enter into a competition Sad

I read the rules, and they said, (until they were changed) that you did NOT have to take the photo within the hour.

Results:

JoshReptiles – A very nice image which fits the theme well, much differently than others interpreted it. A good try, but I feel an image rotation and a crop would help.

Nikonhammer – very imaginative, I like the idea of your leg being shaped like Italy Smile A good one, I think however a bit more carefull lassoing might have helped on that one.

LACOUPE – the sky is very dramatic and the beach huts make for some nice foreground interest. I think it fits the theme well – doesn’t look like it was taken within the hour, but well done.

Slimey – well done on getting the family to help you with this one – you have composed it well and I like the cropping… I think it is a tad soft due to movement, but that’s what you get inside… well done!

T_w1112 – I liked yours as it was imaginative and clearly cleverly done within the hour given. I think cropping off the carpet would have helped a bit, and perhaps a bit better light. I really liked the thinking though.

Cramj – A nice picture, well exposed and does show the ‘world’ theme. Nice interpretation. The bar on the left is a bit distracting from the powerful poster though so I feel a crop would have helped there…

StuartFawcett – very well done considering you didn’t have long. I liked the way you did it. It was a little bit bright, but I thought the manipulation worked well there so congratulations on that one.

Eviscera – Exremetly good manipulation here, and I see how it fits the theme well. I think however that the spots of cloud don’t really need to be there, so I would have preferred the image without. Still very well done.

Cattyal – I liked the image, I thought it was very clever and yes in my eyes it does fit the theme very well so well done on that… The lighting is also very good. My only criticism would be to try and get the whole of the earth in… but I can’t make up my mind yet over whether that is important…

Xiaoli – All you pictures were good, I am only going to talk about the one that in my opinion was your best one. That would be the one with the earth in the wheel. It was just on time and very well manipulated in my opinion so well done on that… I feel the sea has a bit rough edges though.

Cirrusminor – I think its very clever what you have done so I congratulate you on that… I feel the earth has a ‘soft’ feel to it, but apart from that it is well manipulated and I like the way it fits the theme.

Janehobson – I liked the picture – thought it was very funny and I liked to way you did it… I thought it was a good interpretation of the theme and it certainly made me laugh Smile
Housemartin – even though your second picture was soft, I prefer it to the first one slightly. The first one made me laugh, but I like the skill used in the second. I think a crop to the right a bit would be better so he has some space to ‘run into’.

OK

In 5th place: catyall with ‘on top of the world’!!!

In 4th place: t_w1112 with ‘Contemplation’!!!

In 3rd place: Nikonhammer with ‘Welcome to Italy’!!!

In 2nd place: Eviscera with ‘Around the world… don’t burst the bubble’!!!

And in 1st place: Xiaoli with ‘-‘!!!!
