Monday Night Challenge Results
ChrisPritchard – Great shot would be good, but sadly not applicable due to misunderstanding of the rules. Unlucky but a great shot nevertheless.
JoshReptiles – Also a nice shot but once again was not taken in the hour so sorry but its disallowed on this occasion.
Urdygurdy – I liked the depth of field to show the little leaflets – a very clever idea. I feel that however it might have been nice to see the wording on it, a bit clearer.
Chelle70 – I liked the lighting on the lights, and when you take them up-close it really does show what amazing patterns they can form! However, both are a tad soft and the first one has a smudge sadly on it – however, they are great shots from a different perspective. The one at Wimbledon was also an interesting take.
F8 – I liked the thought on this one and the background is good. Once again a nice object to photograph so well done, I like the crop also I think on this occasion the tightness of it is good.
Cattyal – the lighting on the first car, the Jaguar E-Type is lovely, with a great background and fantastic shadows really showing me the beauty of the car – would look great for a company and is great for a model (I suspect….).
Lacoupe – Nice car… I like the detail, focussing is very good but the background is a bit busy… Still a lovely shot clearly fitting into the theme well.
Xiaoli – My favourite is No.1 so lets talk about that one. It is very clever, fits the theme well and is nicely processed to create a desiring effect. Maybe the crop on the top though was a bit too tight…
Goggz – Wonderful DOF here, really really nicely done. I think however it is a bit grainy but a great interpretation of the theme anyway, I was hoping somebody would put something related to photography up

Bazza21 – Very nice – clearly a little model but still well photographed in what appears to be excellent light. There is some lovely detail, but perhaps taking from a different angle would get rid of the distracting grey section on the far right.
Rpba18204 – Again a nice scene, fits the theme well and detail is good. The crop is nice as it has some space to “move into” but I feel that the horizon line and the cart is a bit wonky – so that being corrected would help.
Stuart463 – Nice DOF and reflection, colours also quite good. I think however that the key point of this image, the front of the truck is out of focus, thus meaning one has to focus in the middle, which I don’t feel is the correct area. Perhaps a closer focus would have improved the image. Still – well done.
Cattyal – Once again, great lighting and interpretation of the theme.
Slimey – well done, don’t quite know how the boot stayed up like that…… Anyway good interpretation, background a bit busy though. Also I think the crop is a tad too tight on both sides.
StuartFawcett – Nicely thought out a grand idea – I like the background here and the detail is good. Mono works well but a bit more space on the right hand side may have helped.
Lurksalot – both pictures very good – lovely colour and detail. The second pic is a bit grainy and doesn’t fit the theme, but the first one is good.
UBOAT – Goodness Connor, was expecting one of your aircrafts! Anyway, great shot nicely done – however I think it’s a bit over-saturated and the front is a bit too dark. However the lighting is super to well done.
Cirrusminor – nice composition, it’s a tad dark but I really like the idea and I think it fits the theme well. Given me an idea for a future theme too if I ever get the chance again… (unlikely).
Eviscera – of course it counts if you think it does – and I think it does… I think it is fantastically processed with jaw dropping colours and lighting.
Montechoro – fantastic depth of field on this one, nice lighting as well – a very “luxurious” feel to the picture – would look good as a poster I think.
Kinell – Clever idea, and I like the detail but I think a closer crop would have shown just that little bit more…
HouseMartin – It is a good idea with nice colours, but I feel it is a bit too bright with many highlights. Apart from that the lighting is good.
JoshReptiles – Very nice colours and the focussing is spot on – but I think that a bit more space on either side of the car would have helped the composition.

You have given me a real challenge choosing, and I have given you challenges for taking the picture, and waiting patiently for me to tell you how it did...
Smashing entries tonight some of which I am very impressed were done within the hour.
Here goes:
5th = StuartFawcett with Drive over walk!!
4th = Xiaoli with Walk a Mile in my Shoes 1!!
3rd = Montechoro with Merc SSK 1928!!
2nd = Eviscera with teleportation!!
And…. First place
1st = Cattyal with both her pictures!! Each would have come first separately but I could not choose between the two…
Thanks so much it has been a pleasure hosting this weeks, good luck all next week sadly cannot be here as I am going skiing.

See you all soon,
Jonah
