Mono challenge Day 1

By kel55
Accepted Almiles Challenge of uploading 5 mono shots in 5 days , this is my first offering of the Tyne and surrounding buildings , original colour version was quite punchy so i,ve tried to processes this conversion in the same style .Used lots of layers processed at different tones and brightness to get the look i wanted masking different areas out as needed , takes longer than hitting a preset button but i think results are better . cheers for taking a look . Kel.

Spectacular effect! Lovely contrast between crispness of the architecture and the softness of the sky and water. Beautiful

Ideal subject for mono and you've toned it beautifully (something I can't seem to get right in my mono conversions - you'll have to give me a tutorial). I think the off balance comp might detract a wee bit but it remains spectacular.
