Mono Meerkats

Meerkats (Suricatta suricatta) at Blair Drummond Safari Park, Stirling.
A different colour version from the same shoot went up a while ago so I thought I'd try mono for this one.

I looked-up what a group of meerkats is called and its "a gang" and what jolly looking gang they are! A wonderful image with great mono tones and fine details. We are so used to seeing them standing-up and looking into the distance, it makes a change to see resting.

I like the effect of the longer lens, crowding them together. But I have never understood the attraction of these mean-looking creatures!
