Monopoly Board: Stations

By smut01
A huge thank you to everyone for their thoughts and wishes yesterday, it means a great deal. Thank you!

I thought I'd give myself a little project to keep the old cells occupied. A some-time project. I'm planning to visit all areas of the monopoly board a set/colour at a time, giving myself no more than 90 minutes to complete all of the shots. I started yesterday with the stations, and here they are. Only just managed it inside the 90. In order: Kings Cross, Liverpool St, Fenchurch St and ending with Marylebone.

Once again, thank you all!
Tony

That must be a tough task, Tony. KX/St P and Liverpool Street I can connect - mentally at least - but I can hardly even place the other two on the map 🙄😮 As for getting round all four in 90 minutes: well, that's one way to keep fit I s'pose 😉
Particular praise for V2 (especially) and V3 with the girl's expression in the former really catching the eye. Both these versions are livelier . . .

What a great idea and you start with a hard one. I was just wondering which prison your going to be locked up in. Don't forget your "Get Out Of Jail Free" card.
Just an idea why not put the colour bar along the top of each set.

One of my on-going projects but with no time constraints hence I’ve only managed half a dozen of them Grin

How did you arrive at the 90min limit?

Go to Jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect £200.

The first station is your sequence is St. Pancras, not King's Cross.

Fabulous idea Tony. well done.

Now ... if I could just combine that with street portraits ...

(I guess I'd need to give myself 2 hours) Grin

Really looking forward to seeing the sets as they develop.

Of course for Old Kent Road/Whitechapel Road and Park Lane/Mayfair you only get 1 hour!

Good luck with it.

The sign outside says 'kings cross st pancras'. I figured that gave me licence. But thanks for your comment.

Smile I needed something to not make me overthink the shots... I'm not good at thinking ahead, I like to shoot first and ask questions later Smile

You should have made it a proper challenge and used the French version which features Paris.Wink

An ambitious project, Tony, interesting to see how it develops. The utilities and Jail should be a challenge.
In this set I like the connection lead/V1 (statues) and V2/V3 (people).

I really don't have a clue as to what you mean but it will be fascinating to see what you come up with. These are all very good. Especially like V2 and V3.

Great idea.
King's Cross and St. Pancras are completely different stations, built by and run by different companies and serve different sets of destinations. Albeit they are adjacent each other.
King's Cross St. Pancras as one station is the underground. I spent many years commutig through there Grin

Don't rely on TfL, then Wink
Unless you use a TfL minute as your time standard. The conversion factor to real time minutes can be ten or more Smile

"Extra! Extra Read all about it!"
(I doubt that is ever shouted now - either the commuters pick up a free paper or just read the headlines off their phones)

Anyway, please accept a gong for V2. The girl looking up is so clearly worried that you won't notice the other one haring up the steps toward you!

I've been doing a Monopoly project for a while now.

No timescale though. Just capturing the various locations if I'm nearby and seeking out some of the more obscure ones when I'm not.

There's an accepted location to represent 'Go' and the power companies are easy enough to represent, likewise 'Jail' and 'Go to Jail' but how will you, or have you coped with 'Chance' and 'Community Chest?

What a great idea. I missed this on the day, but found it today when looking at your Strand image.
I look forward to the remainder...
