It is a lovely leading line, and you can see a long way down the street!

Brings back memories as we were there in 1992 and it was just as busy. Difficult not to get jostled when trying to take a picture but very enjoyable. Your image shows the crowds and the narrowness of the alleyways very well

Lots of nationalities if I recall Malc, even pre-Schengen.

There was, and I guess still is, a strong commercial element.
