Matt - Dear me, subliminal level. Well, actually, I did sort of look at which photos I could match and which weren't suited to eachother. The sky from Normandy had a lighthouse in front, and at about the same distance as the Mont St. Michel in the other. Everything my wife and I could think of, was made as realistic as possible. I'm not saying that we couldn't have missed anything, though. Thanks for pointing it out, Matt!
Darren - Funny you should say that, because as I understand it, both were built by the same religious order. Hmmm, maybe their headquarters in France was supposed to be more magnificent than a mere foreign branch...

Actually I've just realised what was niggling away... the lighting. The sky says the sun is setting behind MSM, yet the lighting on the top and front indicate the sun was to the left of the image.
It was actually an old image of mine: this that highlighted the importance of perspective. I had another stab at it by using the perspective tool on the sky and it was a lot more convincing.
It's funny with the brain - it's very good at highlighting little oddities without voicing them directly

But to say again, this image is very good work - and the twist with the lighting adds to the fairy-tale nature of the shot

Matt

Oh well, I'm quite happy to go with the idea that my image is seen as having fairytale-like qualities!

Thanks for your detailed comments, Matt!

(Pinch. Ouch! No, I'm awake.)
Hmmm. I did have a dream the other day about getting an EC, but that was clearly fiction.
Wow.
Thanks, Pete!
I can't quite get used to the idea yet. But I will, in time...

Okay, I think it's time I mentioned something that my wife ( webjam ) didn't want me put in my description: this was a joint effort. The two photos that were blended were mine, the ideas were mine, part of the execution was mine, but some of the finer PhotoShop work I have to credit my wife Jacqueline for - she knows a lot more about PS than I do. So: A big thank you to my lovely wife!
And thanks to everyone who commented and clicked, especially those who did so even before Pete had spotted this image!

Thanks, Jouko!
England? Oh, did they win a football match or something? I'm not into that. Ever since people began kicking eachother more than the ball, I haven't been interested anymore.
