Monument Valley.

By rustyshackleford
East and West Mitten Bluff, with Elephant Bluff I think. A Sunday morning in April 2008 and nothing had really prepared me for the magnificence of Monument Valley. For me, it exceeds the Grand Canyon. But that's me.

It is a fantastic place. We had the whole valley to ourselves not long after 9/11...Rode horses down here that was special also camped not far from your taking position. The Grand Canyon can be spectacular but you must be at dawn or dusk. Like that you have cars in your shot giving scale to the Mittens.

Thanks ZJ . I regret not taking the horse ride but I prefer looking at them to getting on their backs. If I could go back to anywhere in this world, this would be it.

Nice shot the one you called elephant bluff is actually Merrick Bute.
The best bit I saw when I was there was totem pole and the submarine surfacing.
Sorry for the mix up jimbob. Confusing my bluffs with my buttes.
