Moon Halo

By Porthos
This is the first time I have ever seen one of these. I spotted it a couple of nights ago. It's a "moon halo" or "moon ring" which is apparently caused when the moonlight is refracted in millions of hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the upper atmosphere. It was quite an impressive sight to behold.
