Hi, Paul - welcome back to the Critique Gallery - you posted here a few years back, though you don't seem to have responded to the comments made then.

To help us help you it would be better if we knew a little more.

What is your reason for requesting critique?
What inspired you to take this photo?
What were you hoping to achieve?
Do you feel that you succeeded or failed - and why do you feel this?
Are there any specific elements of your photo that you want help with?
Do you want advice on camera settings, processing, composition, or something else?
Do you have any particular questions you would like answered?

The Critique Gallery works best as a conversation, so the more you can tell us, the more we can help you.

This is an interesting closeup, but it's not terribly sharp: handholding a very long lens at 1/125 second is more than a little optimistic, and using a superzoom wide open is unlikely to deliver the optimum in quality. This is a delightful record of the moon as you saw it, but can't compete in technical quality with images taken with more specialised (and much more costly) equipment.

Welcome back to the Critique Gallery Paul.
I notice that this image appeared in the main gallery some years ago now so what has made you put it into the Critique Gallery ?
A little more info from you as has been mentioned above, would help us to help you.
As I see this, there is lots of pixillation going on...a hefty crop maybe ? and the white balance looks a little odd. The image is not as sharp as it could be, that's possibly down to the lens you have used.
We do need you to help us along here.

Its shot at the longest end of the zoom range on the camera, at its widest aperture.

It seems noisy for ISO 200, and it would be nice to know also if you cropped the original image, which would accentuate noise, and is you used a tripod or hand held the shot.

In the interim, Ive added a mod that puts more frame at the bottom, as the Moon is too close to the edge.
