Moonlight On The Naze

By chrisrudland
Finally got down to Walton on the Naze in Essex for a dust shot. And met my old friend Ian (Flindt) who by coincidence was there, these epz lot get everywhere. Nice to see you again Ian.

Here it is anyway, not much to say as I have discovered more dust and spent 5 minutes processing the raw image and 35 minutes just trying to get dust spots off it.

Very long exposure for me on bulb setting as it was nearly dark, used a cable 45 seconds @ F20.

I took the moon shot just slightly to the left and panned back to take this one, so the moon was dragged from another layer in PS and blended in.

Excellent composition and exposure, and I love the subtle tones in the sky and on the water.

Lovely composition and colours Chris but I would prefer it without the moon. I find it a touch distracting.

Thank you for your comments on this, having looked at it now I have decided to remove the moon I added. I will upload the original on my own website so thanks for the feedback, its very useful.

Just came back to see you've had an HC for this, Chris. Many congratulations! There's no way now that I'm going to upload my pathetic efforts from yesterday's excursion. I was telling Sue that you're one hell of a photographer (once you were out of hearing, of course!) and this just proves that if it needed proving.

I heard you Ian, had real trouble getting in the car when I got back, my head was so big.

Your always so gracious with your compliments but underneath that green wax jacket there's a mean photographer bursting out.

Lovely colours in this! I like the moon in it, but feel it could use a little more space round it - it seems a bit cramped in the corner. Having said that, I don't know what this would have done to the composition...
