Isn't the front one a Coot?

Nice image though

Good sharp focussed picture, but I feel the birds are somewhat lost among the reeds.

Hi Lucien,

No actually they were taken in "The Lords Bushes" in Buckhurst Hill. Do you know the area then?

Hermin, im puzzled why you changed (in your modified version) the Coot's frontal shield and bill to red? Look forward to hearing the reason...Wink

To make them both morehens rather than coots perhaps? Smile

I understand the reasoning there, Chris. Youre just trying to be kind.....lol Still doesnt make sense, even from that diplomatic angle....Wink

Splendid definition and colors in this photo. The reflection of the front bird is so good, I had difficulties realizing it was a floating bird. Very good shot Chris.

I like this, the large version is excellent. I like the way you can see the Coots feet under the water.

Watcha Chris,
like this, excellent pic of a coot, superb reflections, guddun.
I'm in 2 minds about a crop: yes, to really focus in on the bird, no, cos it'd mean losing all that lovely movement and texture on the right, ah well.
Epping Forest then, just up the road from me at Harlow. used to go in the forest there a lot at High Beach and Loughton when the wife's cousin lived at Debden.
best

Lucien - its hidden away in the middle of Buckhurst Hill, it used to be someones back garden but its just another bit of the forest now.

Mick - Hi to a neighbour then Smile If you fancy doing a bit of landscape photgraphy in Epping Forest one Saturday then let me know. its always good fun to get together with other Epzers.
cheers
