Aha 🙂 the departed squirrel is now replaced by a departed bird plus feathers, Janet, 🙂 full marks for a really creative image. Love the colourful sweets, perhaps best used like this as ornaments and not eaten! Nice stoneware kilner jar lid too. A very different and colourful image.

Reminds me of Ancient Egyptian illustrations of the weighing of the soul. The jellybeans are clearly innocent.

Looking up the image this conjured... Anubis weighed the hearts of men against a feather in Egyptian mythology.Those of a religious turn of mind may see the idea of a feather being heavier than a heart as an indication of the mercy of God, or the gods...
Well, what else would you expect to find in a cupboard but feathers?!! 😁 What a great idea, Janet 👍 I think you're right about them being shop scales as you say, the shape of the bowl to enabled easy pouring of the contents into a paper bag 😃
