There appears to be little interest in museums for some of today's youngsters unfortunately.

How did we all manage without mobile phones and the like? Smile

Students on an organised trip. We have dragged hundreds of them around museums in France, Germany and Russia, when all they want to do is lie in and sleep off their hangovers. Familiar and depressing.

A candid at its best of humans at their...well...human, unfortunately Smile I tell you what I still find tres bizarre even though I've seen it a million times: a young teenage couple at a fast food joint each plugged in completely to their phones. Transfixed and entranced by whatever is on the screen. Food and each other forgotten.

I see the same thing with 20-somethings except they're in proper restaurants. AND I once saw a lady tell the waiter what she wanted while still looking at her phone and typing. It's a pity the information age for all its splendour doesn't provide constant information on how to behave like normal human beings. my soapbox now Grin

PS Thank you SO much for you User Award, Chris. Gob. Smacked.

When we take trips, we find the kids do interact with the exhibits but also need time out. But then again, I tend to spend some time in the coffee shop if I go on my own Grin

It's a shame really. There are an awful lot of young people who aren't remotely like this, who are actually quite normal, who care about things, are proactive, have energy, enthusiasm, and creativity. Trouble is, it tends to be the crappy ones you notice, who drag themselves around with a phone in one hand and a bottle of something sugary in the other, and who stand texting the person standing right next to them..... They get the "normal" kids a bad name. It was never really any different. Not really.

"..wasn't like this when I was young" ( were you ever young?) ......" kids today, honestly..." ....." bring back national service- that'll sort them out!!" ..etc....etc

Gimme a break.

Nice shot, Chris.

A priceless candid Chris, this was an opportunity not to be missed. These bored teenagers remind me of Kevin and Perry from the Harry Enfield sketchesSmile
