"More Mushrooms From PCP"

By RonnieAG
Found these mushrooms yesterday during a walk with the family in Pollok Country Park.
I have yet to ID them despite having spent an hour this evening combing though my fungi books.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Usually I have to grovel in the depths of the forest but these ones were easy to spot as they were in a grassy verge along one of the main paths........V 2 gives you an idea of their location in a contextual setting.
They are about three and a half to four inches tall.

My thanks as ever to all who took time to comment on The Cowlairs Incline and with special thank you to Bob {cabbie} and Dave {HobbitDave} for their much appreciated User Awards.

Exceptional quality, as always, Ronnie.
I think you're getting a reputation with the fungi at PCP and they're lining up to be photographed!!Wink

I was thinking these have a furry textured coat on them.
Now I see it does look like a fine tweed.
Super photography again Ronnie, donít know what their
species is except for the quaility of the capture. Both are
supurb but like V2 with the pathway and other two little ones in.....WinkWinkWink

More mycological mastery (and alliteration.) Love both versdions but the composition in V2 makes it an award winner for me.

Hi Ronnie..............you have got me looking these up now Tongue
Could it possibly be Scaly Agaric (Pholiota squarrosa)

Love V1 once again making these look massive and such a well composed image. Good stuff

Beautifully lit and placed in the frame, Ronnie. I like a challenge and found two similar photos on 'google images'. Unfortunately they were labelled 'hairy' mushroom and 'furry' fungus!!

A very beautiful variety of mushroom. I particularly like the suede like texture.

Thanks for sharing Ronnie.
