CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Youve got it right, - what a difference.

You can close out the bottom thingy, otherwise great. I will clone it out in a mod.

Thank goodness, at last. I think that I can manage to clone out the edge of the tile that was on the top of a white paper which was on top of a book on top of my scanner to get the d... thing fully in the viewer.
Thanks Willie you are a gem.

What a difference, well done. Give yourself a gold star! Definitely clone out the tile and maybe also that little white flower at the top which goes out of the frame.

Encouragement feels so good. I really want to learn, I admit I am a bit impatient but I am trying.

There you go! Grin

Nice and straight, good focus, everything's sharp and the tile clones away to leave an uncluttered background, as in your mod.

As Willie says, it does need just a little bit of sharpening, because resizing images always softens them slightly. (The pixel-level detail that makes images appear sharp gets lost when you resize.) Unsharp mask with a radius of 0.8 and a strength of about 40 or 50 should do the trick — the goal is to bring a bit of crispness back to the edges without introducing any harshness to the delicate petals.

So, what are you shooting next?

I had a wonderful shoot set up this morning, the sea was a wonderful colour, gulls flying after a fishing boat. I checked everything, memory card, tripod, monopod just in case, all I forgot was the extra battery.
Oh well amateurs. Two shots to try out for aperture etc and that was my shoot.

Sorry, but I had to smile.
