Morning Glow

By rworell
Cold morning in march. This was allot of fun to shoot. I had the tide coming in on me and I got wet on some other shots. Racing to get the right wave and timing the sunrise was tricky.

Yes, nice image - not much there, but enough. Strong and simple with nice warm colour. I like it.

bit of nice quality here particularly in the foreground and the tones on the cliffs are superb. i like the depth of tone and sharpness on the bottom left lead in rocks. the quality of light is just as we always hope it will be when we get out of bed to go.

if i have any issue at all, its the mass of the cliff face is a little heavy protruding way over to centre and i find the overall balance a little uneasy on the eye. i think id have been tempted to move further around to the left and reduce the cliffs a little in frame.

the best result would possibly have been with a wider angle lens (which is of course difficult if you dont have one with you ) this would have given more of a diagonal line on the cliff formation. for this type of shot i find 12mm to be pretty effective. it helps with the perspective and seems to unite all the elements.

the water has been capured beautifully and the directional light on the rocks makes me want to be in that water right there with you

Thank you for the expert advice Newmanp...Ya the light was amazing, I'm going to post another shot I took a few minutes before this one. It was so peacful that morning too.

I too like the idea of a wider angle lens, I just need to get one. haha. I appreciate the comments and noted them in my note book I keep in my bag.. Let me know what you think of the next one I post.
