Morning swim

By Madoldie
This was taken while out the other day, had on my 50mm lens and the ducks were on the other side of the water so I had to zoom right in to this in photoshop to get this close. Will upload the original as well.

Slow down, you move too fast...

Do I detect undue haste in shooting? High ISO, shutter priority, sky-high shutter speed...

A good discipline is to change your settings as conditions change if you are out-and-about with a camera. Sun goes in? Raise ISO or open the aperture a bit. And so on.

The people who do it best with grab shots (which this may have been) are ready for grabbing the picture. In the same way as the best drivers aren't relying on their reactions, but on reading the road and the traffic 400 yards ahead of where they are now...

I can not say I can read your mind.
Or that this ''is'' what you had in mind when you've shot the picture.
But what I've had to leave almost intact in the picture were the water trails.
You have the mother duck and the ducklings, they look sharp and good.
The rocks and the plants on the area omitted are ''too much'' of an info (even for National Geographic standards). The calm water ahead is.... boring. On the contrary the water pattern created by the ducks
reminds me the waves created by the ships I have travelled with, so you can say this is a personal touch, yet it's worth considering, how many people associate with this view compared to people looking at sea so smooth as a set jelly sweet in its cooling form.
