Mountain Box - James Hillier and Connor Cummins

By SimonD3
Stunning evening on the mountain section of the famous TT road racing circuit up at a favourite corner of mine, Mountain Box. James Hillier (first of the two bikes) being chased by local favourite Connor Cummins, is about to tip into a very fast left hander at well over 120mph and yet he has the ability, time and skill to briefly look at me as I took the shot. I hadn't noticed our eye contact until I viewed the image on my iMac back in my studio. The evening light during the TT practice sessions can be stunning up on the mountain and because the sun was over my shoulder I was able to shoot at f7.1 and 1/2000s and still get a pin sharp image...if only the lighting was always this good for action shots!!!Wink The shot is pretty much as it came out of the camera...

Thank you very much for your comment. I am sorry that I have taken so long to reply...Ive been away and very busy. There are plenty of places that you could watch the Isle of Man TT from notwithstanding your use of a wheelchair so please don't be disheartened. I would hope that most venues internationally are trying harder in this respect, certainly they should be. I wish you the best of luck with it all.

Thank you very much for your comment. I am sorry that I have taken so long to reply...I've been away and very busy. The men and women that race the roads are a breed apart. They are brave, talented and focussed beyond normal parameters. I have the utmost respect for them.
