Moving fast!!

By Lillian
Being chased by a larger stag and another in the thick fog
and coming up behind another one..what fun!

V2 is where I was in his way and he swerved off into the bracken
V3 The big stag who was doing the chasing...but missed his feet so a version

Taken at Bushy Park Surrey

These images are so full of atmosphere and a wonderful feel of autumn.
Are they dangerous to go near when the rut is on?
At Aviemore we went with a group who fed the deer and we were allowed
in with them. They nudged my camera bag but I didn't feel in any danger.

No fog there today Lillian! But also no Deer, as it started to rain about 10am after looking for two and a half hours only saw one stag and five females, you were right we left it to late in the year, will know better next year, excellent captures.

For heavens sake Lillian, yes great shots but for goodness sake be careful, as Ron so rightly says many we have seen taking pics and they have come a cropper. I wouldn't be so close myself seen too many near misses and these are large animals they can give hefty wallop if they run into you even by accidentSad

I am going out on a limb here Lillian and suggesting that they have been cropped heavily as a lot of noise is evident in the closer ones which the 5d is said to be very good at handling, and I would challenge anyone to carry on taking pictures with a stag coming straight at them and that close. This comes from so much experience in these subjects.
I like the timing catching him mid stride and in retreat and catching the bracken environment as well.
Hopefully I can catch some more tomorrow if conditions are right.
