Moving on.

By steveplant
A Jay, Garrulus glandarius having been burying acorns, (most oak trees are thought to be acorns buried by Jay's and not collected), takes off to collect more. I was out looking for insects and fungi, I saw the Jay on the ground and quickly changed the camera's settings just in time to catch it in flight, having the macro lens fitted I wasn't confident of a reasonable shot.

Wow. Jay's are so shy normally.

Thanks Heather and Sangram for the comments Smile

Yes Heather, that is my experience too, luckily when I saw it burying acorns I was close to a small tree and so used the tree for some cover, had I been in the open I suspect it would have flown off in a different direction.
