Alf, It pays to share your meal. Deer me; this deer is not a vegetarian. She or he is a beauty, and you have an amazing portrait here, a real pose of gratitude. The detail and texture you captured along with the animal's beautiful horns is wonderful. Larry

Alf, Can two comments be better than one? I have the same lens? I am debating about whether to take my 200-500mm to Australia; it is so big and heavy. Yet, we are visiting a couple of terrific wildlife areas. What do you think? Thanks. Beautiful deer; I would have thought it an elk. Larry

Many Thanks for your thoughtful feedback Larry!

Whenever I have decided to leave a lens behind, I have always regretted it afterwards. My advice, take it with you, it might be big and heavy, but do you really want to risk missing the shot of a lifetime. I take everything I can carry these days Smile
