Mrs. Pumphrey and Triki-Woo

By Hurstbourne
23 Kirkgate, Thirsk, North Yorkshire is now a museum but was where Mr. J.A. Wight ran a veterinary practice alongside Mr. D V. Sinclar. Alf Wight is the world-famous author of the famous James Herriot books. As well as being Alf's dining room, this room was also used as a waiting room and on display is a lifelike effigy of Mrs. Pumphrey and her dog Tricki-Woo who were iconic characters in his book called "All Creatures Great and Small."
