Looking at the gills, could be a Bolete of some sort.
Down and dirty is the way to go Wink
Nicely stacked Fiona, lovely isolation.
Note to self....must go get down and dirty in to woods any time soon, before the slugs take hold Wink
Outstanding image! Love the angle you've taken it at and the contrasting colours...beautiful! Smile

Another beautiful shot. I love the point of view. My award.
Perfectly composed and captured, lovely detail and uncluttered background.

I love this - I think its a Larch bolete. I love how you show that kind of webbing underneath too. I wasnt overly happy with any of mine from yesterday but still loved getting out with you guys. Ive decided next time Im doing more creative single shots instead of stacking everything Smile

Certainly a bolete of some kind because of the pores rather thn gills.
Beyond that I can't say as it depends on the woodland species and sometimes you need a small magnifying lens or to bruise the lesh o get an exact ID.
Either way the resulting image was worth getting down for.
