Mustering For Baby Duty

By LynneJoyce
At last I am able to start sorting my photos from my holiday in Portugal with Isabel. Here is the first (small for me) post devoted to Storks, those famous baby deliverers who are here waiting to be called to duty.

A mustering is the correct collective noun for Storks unless they are migrating and then they become a phalanx. Anyway, you can see a mustering of hundreds in V's 2 and 7, spotted by our very sharp eyed friend Bella.

I am not a bird photographer by any means which you can tell by the fact that the only sticks these birds are on are their rather scruffy nests. However I confess to being rather pleased with the collection of shots I got of these enchanting birds. Here you have just a few.

Thank you for viewing and I hope that you enjoy at least some of these images.

I only recall seeing storks once in the wild, and it was in Marrakech back in 2006. They were, as you've shown here, perched high up in a nest on top of a building. A great collection Lynne, like 'em all but go for the ones on the nests as my faves 👍

For a non bird photographer these are excellent Lynne.
Mustering and phalanx - must remember those.
I thought phalanxes were my fingers.
Beautifully presented - will try to remember to award later.

What a great set Lynne! Love the chimney with nest on it! Fine birding here 🏆
Is that an old camera tripod they’ve liberated in v.10? 🙂
