He is gorgeous! (A pink ball!!!) Smile

I love the way you've caught him, but felt the image needed just a little more space at the top. With my mod I've added a little more canvas and cloned in the grass. I also gave minor tweaks to 'Lighting/contrast' levels. Smile

good doggy shot in general. Quality very good. You do need a little more space above and a bit more angle on the dogs body as it looks a little distorted like this - body hidden, back legs out.

a fine looking animal indeed must be murder keeping him as clean as that nice capture and i think the uploaded mod works well

Buddy certainly is beautiful, Nicky.
Considering it was sunny, you held the exposure well, there being no burnt out areas on the coat, and nice detail.
The composition has already been mentioned and, although you have a nice bit of space in the area into which Buddy is looking, he is just a bit tight at the top of the frame.
Your grass background is good and clean, with no distractions.
The strong sun has caused some blue areas, especially around the muzzle. This may be a white balance problem, and if it isn't, you'd do better to have your camera set on auto WB.
The eyes of animals are important, and if you take pictures of Buddy again, try to get him to look at you with wide open eyes instead of looking off to one side.
I have done a modification where I added canvas to the top, did a levels adjustment, and used Colour Balance to remove most of the blue, which has rendered his coat more of a champagne colour. Only you will know if that is more true to his natural colour. I also cloned out the little bit of pink ball on the top of his paw....he'd probably been chewing at the ball.
