My father

By Ahem
Although it is softly focused, this remains one of my most meaningful photographs. It is one of the very last portraits of my father before his death. To paraphrase Sam Keen, when we love someone, we are able to see the "outward, visible expression of an inward, invisible grace." Thanks for your gift, Dad.

Lovely words. You most likely know what his expression is thinking. It looks to me like love for you.

You are so lucky, Hem, that you were a good enough photographer to take a portrait of your father, rather than merely some family snaps - I wish I had taken something like this of my Dad.

I can see tolerance, gentle amusement, and they spring from a love for you. The eyes matter - windows to the soul.
Excellent, sensitive, powerful portrait. GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Lovely portrait Hem. Strange that our children remember us when we're old and yet when we see ourselves in our minds we still see the young person we were. Smile
