Lovely shot. I like the fluffiness of the cocker and Fiona's hair.
Thankyou for 2 links and advice about D70(via Susan).I think I may have decided! Much appreciated.

Excellent technically and visually. The lighting really brings up the detail.

You know they say that owners get to look like their dogs, have you noticed the similarity between the fur on right hand ear of the dog and the texture of Fiona's hair on the right side?

Its a lovely picture, wish I could do work like this

I'm not into studio type shots but I can appreciate the quality of this one. The lighting is good, as are the catchlights in their eyes. My only slight crit is I think the hands spoil it. Maybe worth trying to clone/crop them out?

Lovely portrait. I'd be inclined to clone out the hairs across Ben's eye, but then I have just got back from taking my dog to the vet's with an eye problem!!!
Great shot though, one to treasure.

Looks like a pretty good life!

P.S. Brian may have a point - same hairdresser?! Only teasing - I'm constantly being told I've got the same beard as my Lakeland!

Great lighting on lovely portrait. Is the background black card Peador ? !! LOts of lovely textures and bright eyes and the red balances the whole image. Sylv.

Thanks everyone. Sylv, the background is black cloth draped over a support about 4-5 feet from subject.

Replying to the information you required,( Looking out), original image was shot into the sun, and there was a haze on the beach, so the original image gave me a lot of different tones. I then only had to apply a combination of adjustment curves and colourize in PS, until I had the required effect I was after. Elaine x

Like their expressions. Been there and done that. The dog and my wife, Magda. Made me smile. Thanks.
